Bounty Killer was born Rodney Basil Price in the Kingston ghetto of Trench Town on June 12, 1972. His large family soon relocated to Riverton City, a makeshift community founded on the Kingston city dump, before later moving to Seaview Gardens, a nearby area.
Young Rodney would sneak out late at night to hear the music thundering from speaker boxes strung up in the community, belonging to the sound system owned by his, Father, affectionately known as Breezer. It was on that sound system that he first tried his hand at deejaying as a nine-year-old.
