Ex-Oklahoman is convicted in Alabama woman's death
MOBILE, Ala. A jury Wednesday convicted serial killing suspect Jeremy Bryan Jones on all four capital murder counts Wednesday for the 2004 rape and shooting death of a Mobile County woman attacked in her home during a hurricane blackout.
Jones, a former Oklahoman, was convicted of rape, burglary, sexual abuse and kidnapping in the course of capital murder.
The jury deliberated about two and a half hours and on Thursday will recommend either death or life in prison without parole.
The appellant, Jeremy Bryan Jones, was convicted of four counts of capital murder for the killing of Lisa Nichols.
A judge will set a sentencing date later and is not bound by the jury's recommended penalty.
